Juan de Balmaseda, Oviedo Cathedral Retable: Detail, the Resurrection

Most of the details of this image are traditional. Jesus stands before the sarcophagus in a cape and perizoma and holds a standard in his left hand while blessing the viewer with his right. Three soldiers lie "like dead men" while one looks terror-stricken as he presses down on (tries to re-close?) the lid of the sarcophagus.
